How To Get Soft And Healthy Hair

Hey Everyone!

In my DIY T-shirt curls post, I got a lot of questions about how I get my hair healthy. The secret to keeping your hair glossy and shiny is simple: treat your hair correctly! Even though I do use heat on my hair, I have been trying to use it less because of my new favorite curling method. Here are the products that I use to help prevent split ends and add a ton of shine!

My first favorite is the Chi Keratin Mist. This is such an amazing product because you can easily add it to your everyday routine, I use this on my hair to stop split ends before they start. Keratin rests on top of healthy hair to protect it, but it will help seal up any damage. This can also be used to prep your hair before you use any treatment masks.

I try to switch up my shampoo's pretty often to give my hair all of the benefits of each individual product, but I keep coming back to Joico K-Pak reconstructing shampoo. This adds so much shine, and it really prevents split ends. This would have to be my number one essential for getting that natural shine, I have also found that this makes your hair so much easier to style.

For my conditioner, I use the TIGI Rockaholic Living The Dream Daily Energy Conditioner. This is gentle enough to use it frequently, and it keeps my hair so soft. This was on sale one time when Ulta was having their 21 days of beauty, so I decided to pick one up. This has to be my all time favorite conditioner, it makes your hair super silky without being greasy, which is a major deciding factor in hair products for me. My definition of shiny hair is glossy, bouncy, full, and healthy. These products will not weigh your hair down, they will just add all of the qualities above!

I use the Redken Outshine as a detangler on my wet hair, and then I let it air dry. This is typically used for adding shine, but it does an amazing job of creating a smooth and sleek look without using heat. If you want it to dry straight, brush through it every ten minutes to keep it flat. If you want to add more of a natural looking wave to your hair, check out the next product!

My go-to product for natural looking waves is the Suave Professionals Captivating Curls Mousse. Suave has really established an amazing range of products, and I have been extremely impressed with their professional line. This is more of a cream then a mousse, and it makes your hair so soft. This doesn't make your hair crunchy at all, but the hold on it is so impressive considering the texture of it! The key to this product is to apply it right after you get out of the shower, and then dry it with your towel.

My favorite heat protectant would have to be the Got 2 B Guardian Angel. I use my Chi 44 iron guard on my hair when I straighten it, but for everyday use, Guardian Angel is my favorite. I mainly focus this on the ends of my hair and then work it up, this prevents split ends and really nourishes your hair.

These are my favorite products that I use to keep my hair looking shiny and healthy! The only products that I always use are the shampoo and conditioner, but keeping the others in your routine will provide you with healthy looking hair, even when you don't use them daily.

And we want to thank all of our amazing followers, we are so excited to get to 100! Make sure to follow if you haven't already, and tell me in the comments how you keep your hair healthy. Thanks for reading!

Awakened Eyes Tutorial

Hey Everyone!

I am really excited for today's post, it is my edition of the back to school makeup tutorial! Glitter Girl is doing these as well, but because we have different undertones and hair colors, we are both going to do our own versions of these looks. This tutorial is one of my favorites, not only will it brighten up your entire face, it will also reduce the appearance of any dark circles. These are my secrets to looking like I got those essential hours of sleep!

The first step is to apply concealer to any dark circles or blemishes. I like to use my Mac 217 brush for this, it really gives that airbrushed look. When you are applying concealer under your eyes, make sure to add a little to your lids as well. This creates a "primer" that will make your shadows last longer, and it will reduce the appearance of dark circles. Most people think that it will only show under your eyes, but applying a little concealer to your lids can make a major difference.

Next, we want to brighten our eyes by highlighting. I like to use a lighter shimmery color like Nylon or Shroom from Mac for this step, and using the 219 pencil brush, highlight the inner corners of my eyes. This will bring the light to your eyes, making them appear bigger and wide awake. Make sure to blend this out a little, you want the effect to be very natural.

Now that we have cured any dark circles, it is time to add the lid color. I wanted to use something that was different, something that would work for any eye color. I applied Naked Lunch from Mac all over my lid with a 239 brush, which made a major difference! Naked Lunch is such a beautiful color, is is natural with a hint on peach in it. This will add a touch on shimmer to your lid without being too much.

Because we focused most of the shimmer on the lid, I wanted to add something soft to the crease that complemented the look without being too much. I added Modelette by Mac in my crease with a 222, and blended it upward. This was a limited edition color, but you could use Cork to get the same effect. For a little more definition, you could add this to your outer corner with a 213.

Now it is time for the finishing touches, one of them being a brow highlight! I applied Blanc Type, one of my all time favorites from Mac, on my brow bone with a 227. This accented Modelette really well, and it brought all of the shadows together.

Eyeliner is the key to natural looks, you can define the shape of your eyes and make your lashes look so much fuller. I am going to use Dipdown fluidline by Mac with a 210 on my upper lash line and on my tightline. Tightlining your eyes is the most natural way to wear eyeliner, it is called invisible eyeliner in Japan. You can add the lower lash line or waterline if you want this look to be more dramatic.

The final step for the eyes is Mascara. One coat of mascara looks like three on my eyelashes, so you don't have to make it look as heavy as it looks in the picture! I used forever 21's Love and Beauty black mascara. This really makes your lashes look extremely full and thick, it is pretty good quality for the price. This reminds me of one of my all time favorite mascaras, Mac plush lash.

For blush, I used Mac's Well Dressed for a light pink glow. This is such a pretty color, I can see why it is one of Mac's best sellers. I wanted a really light application for this, so I used the C427 Tapered Duo Fiber Blush Brush by Crown Brush. This gives the most natural, flawless application, any duo fiber face brush with give that effect.

That is my everyday basic look! If you want to make this look a bit more natural, I would tone down the eyeliner and mascara. This only took me five minutes to create on my first try, so it doesn't take up much time. Keep an eye out for more of these posts coming out soon, we are having so much fun with this series!

Simple DIY T-Shirt Curls

Hey Everyone!

Recognize us? Yes, Forever Fuchsia got a makeover! We loved the old website, but we feel like this one represents us more, and we could not be happier with it! We are still working out some kinks, so keep checking back to see our latest updates! Anyways, I thought I would do a hair tutorial to kick off our back to school series! If you know me, I usually have my hair curled. Or straightened. Or in some strange style that requires heat. Yes, I admit, I really overuse my heat tools, but I do not feel finished unless I have me hair done! I have tried rollers in the past, but I could never sleep on them, so I went straight to using heat on it. I finally figured out a style that uses no heat, plus you can create the rollers at home!

The first step has to be my favorite, you can create your rollers! Take an old t-shirt that you don't wear anymore, and either cut it or rip it into strips about 4-7 inches long, and about one inch wide. Keep in mind that you are going to tie these up when you have your hair wrapped around it, so make that a deciding factor when you are creating your DIY rollers.

Here are the finished strips! These create really pretty, tight curls, so I like to focus them mostly in the front and top layer of my hair. Remember that the tighter the curl, the shorter your hair appears. I like to put these all over the top half of my hair, starting at the end and rolling it up, and then knot the fabric so it is secure. I can leave these in overnight without a problem, so it is a super quick style for me!

Like I said, your hair is going to look shorter then it is if you have super tight curls in, but I like to have a little length to my curls, My favorite way to finish this off is by using foam rollers. I got these for about two dollars at Ulta, they are the one inch type. By putting these on the bottom half, I still get the full, bouncy appearance. but without loosing the length! If you want looser curls, you could use these all over, so adapt this style to your needs. These rollers work for me overnight as well, so I can put both of them in at night and wake up in the morning with picture-perfect curls.

This is the finished look! I separated some of the tighter curls to create a little more wave, and I love it. I did not use any other products in my hair other then my shampoo and conditioner, so I was pretty impressed with the shine! These feel so soft, I do not have to worry about it looking messy because it naturally falls out into these beautiful, glossy waves.

So this is my new favorite way to curl my hair! This will also make your hair stronger because you are preventing split ends. I know I cannot go the rest of the year without using heat on my hair, but this will definitely keep me from overusing my curling iron!

Tell me in the comments what you think of our new setup, and what your favorite rollers are if you use them! Make sure to follow, and thanks for reading!

Back To School Makeup Part 1

Hello Readers!
School is just around the corner! This means back to those rushed mornings where we barely have time to do our makeup. Today I am going to show you some eye looks for school, that can be done in seconds, but look like you spent a long time doing it and put lots of effort into it.   I will also do Back to School Makeup #2 which will be lips, and Back To School Makeup #3 will be face.

This look is very light, and casual, but it makes your eyes really pop. For this look, put Shale from Mac Cosmetics all over the lid, and All that Glitters in the crease and inner corner. I also use Too Faced's Lashlight Mascara.

And here is the final look!
This makeup look was really hard to get a picture of and you can't really see it here, but it gives you an idea of what it will look like.
This next look would really look good with brown eyes. I will probably wear this look to school, it's one of my favorites. First put earthly all over the lid, and then apply Nylon in the crease, and the inner corner. I also used Cover girl's Two in One Mascara.

And here is the final look!

Finally, the last look for today is a look for a girl who likes to have fun, be a little crazy, and look really cool. When you hear the colors I am using you will think, only Katy Perry would wear that, but the colors are really light and subtly so it's appropriate for school. I used a purple from my Nordstrom Makeup Palette, and Electra from mac cosmetics. For this look, put the the purple all over the lid lightly, and then Electra in the crease and outer corner. I also used the Lashlight Mascara again!

And here is the final look!

Thanks for reading! I will have BTS Makeup number one and two up soon! Comment and tell me which look is your favorite, and follow us if you haven't already! Oh and sorry the pictures weren't the greatest today, I had to use another camera.

Purses and Clutches To Add Color To Your Look!

Hello Readers!
One of my favorite ways to add some color or contrast to an outfit is with purses or clutches! I absolutely love crazy and unique purses, and if you want to try out some bright and crazy purses, here is some inspiration from my own collection!

I don't like having to drag around huge purses, although I probably should get a big purse because trying to stuff everything into this small purse is a big challenge. But I love this purse, because it's hip, and works well with a cute summer dress. Sometimes I like to wear a white shirt and white shorts to make this bag really pop! It has two pockets to hold money and stuff which is great because it's too small to fit a normal sized wallet inside. I got this at Old Navy.

This is my favorite purse ever!!!!!! My sister got me it yesterday for my birthday. #Bestsisterever. I have been carrying it around all day because I can't stand to put it down! It's crazy, but elegant at the same kind. It's not that big, it's about the size of a large pancake, but it's just big enough to hold some cash and credit cards. It's from Pink Bungalow.

And finally is this blue clutch from Sephora. It's elegant, it is a blue snakeskin pattern, with a gold sign on the front that says Yuma Bella. The strap you can see in the picture is removable. This would go great with a plain dress to add a pop of color, or a bright summer outfit! The gold sign on the front and the gold zippers really had a touch of sophistication to this clutch and make it wearable for a fancy party or something.

MAC Eye Brush Collection And Review

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been working on this one for what seems like forever! This is my brush collection and review, but this is the first section of my Mac eye brushes. Makeup brushes are essential for me, I like to keep a few sets on hand for doing my makeup and doing other people's makeup. Hopefully this post will help you decide on a few brushes, or help you re-discover some old favorites! I tried taking my own pictures, but it didn't fit in well with the format of the post, so I have almost every brushed linked to Mac so you can view the details.

MAC 222: My first brush is my Mac 222 brush. The 222 brush is a great multi-purpose brush, it works really well for blending out shadows, or applying a smoked out crease color. You can easily control the amount you apply by holding the handle closer to the top for a heavier application, or closer to the bottom for a lighter wash of color. You cannot purchase this in Mac stores or counters because it is discontinued, but I would check out CCO's if you are interested, so sorry for not having a link!
MAC 214The 214 has to be my favorite for smudgy eyeliner! I love to take a darker shadow and line my eyes using this brush, it creates the perfect definition without being too precise. During the day, I love to have a clean, sharp line for eyeliner. Using this brush is a great way to take your makeup from day to night. Toss this in your purse with your favorite pressed eyeshadow and you are good to go!

MAC 213: One of my favorites is the 213. This can be used for just about anything, but I like to use it for an all over lid color, or a sharper crease. This brush can create the best definition in the crease, you can blend it out or keep it as it is. You can really press the color in with this, so I like to keep my 213 brush on hand!

MAC 266My favorite eyeliner brush would have to be the 266 angled eyeliner brush. I can use this with pressed eyeshadows and gel liners, and it creates the most amazing wings. I can also use this brush for defining my eyebrows, but I like to have an extra or two around just in case.

MAC 210The 210 brush is another one of Mac's eyeliner brushes, and even though I use the 266 more often, the 210 is amazing for gel liners. I used this with Macroviolet Fluidline, and it worked really well! The 266 provides more of a controlled application, but the 210 is my go-to brush when I want a thicker line.

MAC 252: The next brush is my Mac 252 large flat shader brush. This is great for covering large areas with concealer, or applying a cream product to your eyes. I went with the 252 instead of the smaller 242 because I wanted to cover up the area faster. I love to use this with paint pots, using this brush helps even out the product and create the perfect wash of color.

MAC 217: If you are in the market for flawless concealer, meet the 217 brush! I originally used this for my crease, but I was tired of my concealer caking up. I have tried some different blending brushes for concealer in the past, but the application process was too messy. I was so happy that this one worked the way it did! I lightly buff the product in using circular motion, and it looks absolutely airbrushed.

MAC 227: The 227 is a newer addition to my collection, I got this with Shroom for a brow highlight. I am almost more obsessed with highlighting my brow bone as I am priming my eyes; it makes such a difference! Not only will provide your eyes with an instant lift, it will contrast with the color of your eyebrows, defining your face shape even more. I pat whatever my highlight color is for the day on with this brush, and I haven't had any problems with it.

MAC 224: My next brush is the 224 blending brush. This was be of my very first brushes, I have used it every day since I purchased it! I usually do not put any color on this brush, I just use it to blend. This will make everything look absolutely flawless, it is the perfect finishing touch to any look.

MAC 219: The 219 pencil brush is my favorite to use for highlighting the inner corners of my eyes. I love to use Nylon or any other shimmery highlight color and lightly apply it to the inner tear ducts. If you are lacking on sleep and it is showing, this will make a major difference! You can use this for defining the outer "V" of your eyes as well, so it is a great multi-use brush to have on hand.

MAC 239: Finally, I have Mac's best selling eye brush, the 239. This brush is so amazing, it can fill in the lid, define the crease, and apply a brow highlight. If you can think of something that you need this brush to do, I can assure you it will work. I would highly recommend this for a Mac starter kit, it is one of my favorites!

These are my must-have eye brushes from Mac! Tell me in the comments what your favorites are, and also tell me if you want a Mac face brush review. Make sure to follow, and thanks for reading!

Purple Look!

Hello Readers!

photo 2.JPG
I am in love with this new trio eye shadow I got from Sephora! It is Ultraviolet. So today I wanted to create a makeup look that incorporated this new eye shadow trio!

So this is the eye shadow! First use the color the top right corner, (my finger is pointing to it) and apply it thickly all over the lid. This color looks dark, but it's actually very sheer and light. So I had to put alot on to make it the color it looks like in the pot.

Next I took the dark purple on the bottom (my finger is pointing to it) and put in in the inner corner and the crease. When you put it in the crease, blend it down close to the lashline, but not completely down. This color is very dark, but be careful when you use it and make sure to blend or else it might look like you have a black eye.

Then I smudged Nylon from Mac Cosmetics. To do this, brush your brush lightly in Nylon, then lightly dab it across your lashline. Be very careful not to put on alot, make the line very thin.

photo 5.JPG

Next I used Maybelline's Ultra Liquid Liner. Just make a thin line across your lashline. One way that will help you make your line better, is to try to do the lashline all in one stroke. Then if you want to make it thicker use small quick strokes.

And finally for the eye, to top this look off, I wanted a mascara that was very black and made my lashes look fuller, so I used Lashlight from Too Faced, this is my all time favorite mascara. If you want to read a full review on it, click on this link.: http://www.foreverfuchsia.com/search?q=lashlight

For the lips, I went with Rusty Rose from Sephora. This lip gloss isn't really for school or daytime, it's a night out lip gloss. It's a darker color, but a bit more youthful then using dark red. My only complaint is that it;s very sheer, so if you were looking a for something that's not so sheer, use a lipstick.

That's all! This is the final eye look:

How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

Hey everyone!
If you read my last post, you know I have been going through a major cleaning/organization stage. I was going through everything on my vanity and it was all fairly neat, except my brushes were a mess! Keeping your brushes clean is essential for a flawless complexion, not only does it enhance the application, but dirty makeup brushes can hold a ton of germs in them. A lot of people don't clean their brushes as much as they should, some don't even know how! This is my favorite way to keep my brushes clean.

For everyday cleaning, I use Mac's brush cleanser. I like to put this in a spray bottle so I can quickly spot clean my brushes. If you are using a really pigmented or creamy color that stains the bristles, this will eliminate some of the stain. Even if my brush isn't coated in a ton of products, I still like to give it a spritz to keep up with it. I just keep a towel next to my vanity so I can wipe the brushes on it, and toss it in the wash every week.

Spot cleaning is great for an every day cleanser, but I like to deep clean my brushes about every week. This gets all of the product out of them, plus it makes the bristles softer and last longer. I have been using baby shampoo forever, it is soft on the bristles while still taking all of the makeup out of them. I just put a little dab of it in the middle of my hand, and then take a dampened brush and swirl it. After it has lathered up nicely, rinse the brush until the water runs clear. I just set my brushes down on my vanity and let the bristles hang off the edge, and let them dry overnight. It is so much fun to wake up to what appears to be a brand new set of brushes!

If you have a really stubborn stain in your white haired brushes, I have a trick to get it out. A lot of people use olive oil for cooking, but a ton use it for cleaning stains too! I used the bright red in the Makeup Forever Flash Palette for an editorial look, and it would not come out. I just put a dab of olive oil in my hand, worked it through the bristles, and then cleaned it as I normally would. The white bristled brushes are so pretty when you first get them, so my goal is to keep them in that condition!

Before you leave your brushes to dry, you will want to re-shape them. This keeps the brush's original shape while preventing stray hairs. I just lightly press the bristles into whatever it was, and then I leave them to dry. When your brushes are wet, make sure to never store them upright. The water from the brush drips down into the barrel, and it loosens the glue, making the brush more prone to shedding. If you get a new brush, clean it before using it to also prevent shedding. Those are my favorite tips to keep my brushes in tip-top shape! Make sure to follow, and tell me in the comments what your favorite way to clean your brushes is. Feel free to request a post by commenting or emailing us at foreverfuchsia@gmail.com. Thanks for reading!

Everyday Makeup And Hair Organization

Hey Everyone!
I feel like we have been doing a ton of organization posts lately, so I decided to add to the pile! Keeping your collection neat and organized is essential, it helps me find the products that I need faster and it makes me a lot more efficient. I did a makeup collection post a while ago, and I try to use everything in my collection, but there are some staples that I use everyday. I put those in my vanity drawer to simplify my morning routine, and I finally have my heat tools and roller stash under control. This is my favorite way to keep everything organized!

I keep all of my rollers in this because I can see in the compartments while they stay neat. I love being able to take something out and throw it back in without it looking horrid! I keep my curlfoarmers, bendable rollers, foam rollers, and my ripped up t-shirt that I use for super tight curls in here! I used to keep these in my drawers, but it jumbled up so easily. I can also clip my sectioning clips to the sides, which make them easily accessible, and I end up using them more.

This is where I do my hair and also my heat tools storage! I absolutely adore my Vanity Girl Hollywood mirror, I got this in about a year ago and have used it everyday since. I remember when I was waiting for it to come in, I was obsessively tracking it and could not wait for it to arrive! This is really useful, you can see what your hair and makeup will look like in different lighting situations, plus it provides you with a full glam experience.

This is how I store my heat tools, and this drawer can get jumbled up pretty easily. It is a challenge to keep the cords looking halfway decent, so I try to make it look as neat as possible and just go with it! I have my flat irons behind the blow dryer, and then I have different curling irons up toward the front. I like to keep a nice variety of barrel sizes available, you can create so many different looks with all of them.

I keep some everyday makeup products in my hair section because I am really into final touches. When I am doing my hair, I can really see what the final look is going to be, adding a little more gloss can make the entire look. Okay, that sounds way to magical to be true, but I mean it! This is nice to have by my door as well, I can grab whatever I need before I head out. Overall, I love my set up for this section!

Technically, I have two sets of my everyday beauty products. I like to keep one by my hair stuff that consists of travel-friendly products, and then another of my everyday essentials in the full size! Try to keep my face products in the main part, and then eye and lip products in the little yellow basket. This really speeds up my morning routine, so I am really happy with my updated system!

I really like my new organization, even though it changes up every couple of weeks! Make sure to follow, and tell me in the comments what your system is! Thanks for reading!
