Summer Simplicity

Hey everyone!

You know those days where you don't really want to do anything, but you have to get out of the house? I was always looking for a simple look that made you look put together in five minutes, and I think this may be it. Here it is!

First, I'm going to take me Stila sheer cover tinted moisturizer and apply this all over my face with my Mac 188 brush. This will even out my skintone without being too much. Check out my tinted moisturizer post for my other favorites. Also, If you want to add a little concealer, go ahead. This is just the look that I wear when I am not trying it any new eyeshadow combinations!

Next, I want to set the tinted moisturizer with something that will give me a little bit more coverage. I'm going to take my mineralized skin finish natural in light plus and apply it with a 189 brush. The brush is limited-edition, and it looks like a large foundation brush, but it works for me!

I need to get a new  Mineralized skin finish natural, because my old one is a little light on me. I'm going to use Nars Laguna bronzer to warm up my face and make it match my regular skintone. I'm going to use a 168 brush, because I also want to do a little bit of contouring.

I want to keep the eyes super simple, and cream eyeshadows are the way to go! I am going to use the Mac paint pot in Rubenesque to make my eyes appear brighter with the shimmery golden peach base.

I am going to use a powder eyeshadow to set the cream, which will make it stay on all day. I want a little bit of a darker shade of gold, so I'm going to use Mac's all that glitters. I used a 239 brush to apply this to my outer corner extending to my crease.

A little mascara can make a major difference. I'm going to apply apply a couple coats of Mac's false lash mascara to eyelashes. If you need a super quick look, I would just use mascara.

Now all that's left is the lips! I like to add a little color here, because another trick to brightening up your face is to go for a brighter lip. I am going to use the elf mineral lip gloss in Fierce. Not only is it inexpensive, but it's also a great color for summer.

And here is the finished eye look! It is really simple, and I can complete everything in five minutes. Make sure to follow and tell me in the comments what posts you want to see. I need suggestions! Thanks for reading!

New Products Wish List

Hey everyone!

Today I'm going to talk about some of the new products that I need to try out for summer. I think that there are a lot of great new products out, and these are the ones that are on the top of my wishlist!

The first product is the Tarte Divine shine lip gloss. I think this looks really cool because of the packaging! I have to admit, I'm a sucker for really pretty packaging. I saw this orange shade, and that is what I have been looking for,so I'm excited try it out!

The next product is the Smashbox camera ready BB cream. I know I did the post on tinted moisturizers, and am trying to figure out the difference between a tinted moisturizer and BB cream. I've heard that BB creams are a little bit thicker, plus they have a a lot of good ingredients in it. Most BB creams come in a limited amount of shades, and Smashbox has five shades available. I cannot wait to try it out and post a review!

The next product I am excited to try out is the OPI nail polish strips. I want these mainly so I can compare them to the Sally Hansen nail polish strips. I always felt like Sally Hansen was always one step behind. They had really good products, but they kind of just blended in with the trends going on. When they came out with the nail polish strips, I was so excited because they worked really well. Well, OPI has the same mission, and they've come out with a line of nail polish strips. Expect a comparison post soon!

I really need to keep up with the new products. I just saw that Revlon came out with their own smoky shadow stick. Revlon has always had great products, and I doubt this is an exception. A lot of brands have come out with a shadow and eyeliner pencil, but I think Revlon will be at the top. It looks like they have some interesting colors, and I'm absolutely in love with the idea. Anything that will save time in my rushed mornings are on my must have list!

My last product is Ulta's extreme wear cheek stain. Ulta has changed their packaging over the years, but I'm not so sure about the quality of their products. They have a nice line for anyone wanting the basics, so I have to try this one out! I am always looking for a new cheek stains, I have fallen in love with them ever since Benetint. They kind remind me of a smaller version of the Nars multiple, expect a review soon!

Liquid Eyeliner

A couple of weeks ago I was looking around at Ulta, seeing if there was anything that I needed to add to my makeup collection. But when I came to the Smashbox section, instead of heading straight to there lipgloss (if you have read my Smashbox Lipgloss posts you know how obsessed I am), I went over to the eyeliner section. I instantely fell in love with their Limitless Liquid Liner Pen.

I tried it out and it was amazing! It could go from a normal day look to evening out look in seconds, all you had to do was make it thicker for nighttime. And, it was so intense, I have never seen a black, so, black! It also looked much sharper then regular eyeliner, because regular eyelinerr can smudge, and it doesn't always give you that wow factor that makes your eyes really stand out.

Then I started thinking, is there a mascara out there that can match this eyeliner? Mac's False Lashes Mascara does. It is an intense black, and it makes your eyelashes really thick and makes them stand out more.

If you want to learn a dramatic look to go with this eyeliner, go to my dramatic look post I did. Heres the link: http://www.foreverfuchsia.com/2012/05/dramatic-look.html

Highlighting Techniques

Hey everyone!

I absolutely adore highlighting. I have mentioned it quite a bit in my previous posts, and today I'm going to share my favorite tips and tricks!

My favorite thing to do with a shimmery loose powder is to mix it in with a little foundation! This creates a brightening look all over. If you want to use it all over your face, use a little less of the powder. Remember, you can always add more! I like to apply my foundation first, and then use this technique with any spare product I have left.

I am also obsessed with high beam. I like to put about three dots of this on the top of my cheekbones. The best part about High Beam is the buildable shimmer it. I love to tap a little on my Cupid's bow to make my lips look fuller!

Not only is Smashbox photo op an amazing brightener for under eye circles, it is also the perfect sheer highlighter. I like to use the triangle technique with this. Before you conceal any under eye circles, make a triangle pointing down. Blend this out to light up your face and hide redness! Sorry for the strange picture, but I thought this was the best way to show you what I meant!

Cream color bases are amazing for the girl on the go. You don't have to mix, blend, or conceal anything, you just use it! I love to use this CCB in pearl in the middle of my eyelid. Not only does this provide a base, but it is a cream product, providing more of a reflection. When the light bounces off of this, it will light up your whole face!

Too face candlelight powder is the perfect color for any skintone. I actually used this as an eyeshadow for a while because the gold reflects in it brought out my blue eyes. Now I like to take a dot of it and apply it to the inner corner of the eye. Your eyes are the key to any expression, you might as well let them shine!

Heart Nail Idea!

                                                                     Hello Readers!
I was looking at some of my recent posts whle trying to decide what to post on, and I realized that I haven't done a nail post in a while. So I came up with a couple of nail ideas, and I think this one is my favorite so I thought I would show you this one first!

Supplies needed: Two different colors of nail polish, and a safety pin.

So first I took a rather bright color as my base. I suggest using either a really sparkely polish or a bright neon nail polish. I took Nicole by OPI's sparkely gold color called Then Next CEO. Apply it all over your nail just like if you were only using that color.

Let that nail polish dry completely.

Now take a color that is a complete opposite of your base color, and I suggest useing a light color, but it must be able to cover your base color. Put this all over your base color so you can't see the base color at all. I used Essie's To  buy, or not to buy.

Now count to 15. After 15 second take out your safety pin, open it up and take the super sharp end and carve a heart in the top layer of nail polish. Keep going over and over the lines to make the lines thicker, but don't do so thick that you can't tell it's a heart.
Let it dry and then do it to all of your other nails. But you don't have to do hearts. Here are some other ideas:
1. Moody Nails! Do a little face on each nail and make each face a different emotion!
2. Polka dots!
3. Your name! Make each nail a letter of your name!

When you do this it makes a very cool effect and it's much easier than it sounds! I hope you enjoy! Please comment and tell me what you think.

Cream Blushes!

Hey everyone!

Do you ever wish your skin had more of a dewy glow? I have dry combination skin, my cheeks are dry while my T-zone is oily. I love the rosy glow that a powder blush gives, but in drier skin it can easily fade or look dull. that is why I love to wear cream blushes! you can find a creamy formula from just about any brand, so I will write about my technique!

I like to start off with a stippling brush, often referred to as a skunk brush because of the black base and white tip to the bristles! I prefer a stippling brush because it has a softer, more airbrushed finish. If you use a paddle foundation brush, which is more dense, it will apply way too much of the product. Cream blushes are extremely opaque, so you need to use a softer hand when applying.

The number one mistake most people make when applying a pigmented blush is that they start too far in. Think about it, you apply foundation around your nose to cover up redness. That is why I like to focus on blending out instead of too far in.

I would let it set a little and then softly blend any harsh lines with your fingers. The warmth from your skin makes the product more blendable!

You may not need this in the winter because your skin is naturally drier, but in the summer I like to set it with a little translucent powder. Right now I am finishing up a sample from Tarte, but any loose powder will do. Always put a loose powder over any cream product, the powder will make the cream last and it will create a smooth finish.

To keep with the glowing theme, add a little bit of your favorite highlighter to the top of the cheekbone. This draws the attention up, like a face lift in a bottle! Currently I am using High Beam by Benefit.

Top Tinted Moisturizers

Hey everyone!

Today I am going to talk about the number one most used product in the summer: tinted moisturizers. I love to use a tinted moisturizer because a heavy coat of foundation will slide off your face in the summer sun ! Here are my favorites.

My first tinted moisturizer was from Mac and I bought this along with the Honey rose magically cooling powder so I could mix the two together for a soft highlight. I will do a tutorial soon! Anyways, I love this one because it is still pigmented and will easily cover up redness without being too much.

My next favorite is the Stila sheer color SPF 15. I use mine mostly for brightening my face up because it is a little light for my skin in the summer. I originally had it in the lightest shade, but I completely forgot I gained a little color in the summer. Shocker. I love how this blend so easily, it is year not that I can put a light layer of it on just for some sun protection.

The Nars tinted moisturizer makes me feel great just by looking all of the stuff that is in it! I kind of had an Arbonne flashback when I saw this, it reminds me of the moment when I was first handed the matte Arbonne catalogue..... Sigh. Arbonne focuses on their ingredients, and I feel like Nars recognizes that we appreciate it! It has a ton of sun protecting ingredients that will keep your skin glowing all summer!

Last but not least is the Smashbox tinted moisturizer. I feel like Smashbox's products are sometimes underrated, they have a ton of amazing products that don't get a lot of hype. Their tinted moisturizer is the best of both worlds, it is extremely blendable and pigmented. It is pretty opaque, and one of my favorites. My tubes of this is all gone, I need to purchase another!

Thanks for reading, and tell me in the comments what your favorite tinted moisturizer is!

Neon Necessities

Hey Everyone!

Today I am going to talk about a trend that is really in this summer, and that is neon pieces! This just started with accessories, and then branched out to shirts and shorts. Now it has taken over handbags! I found this originally on Mod Cloth and have been looking at them ever since. These are some of the most original ones I could find!

This one is from Charlotte Russe, and I like it because it is not too much. Anything that is bright has to be used wisely! This is actually a beach tote, and I might get this! I went to the pool yesterday, and I was trying to carry all of my stuff down because I was too lazy to put it in a bag. Maybe a cute bag would be, I don't know, inspiration?

This is the Marc by Marc Jacobs neon colorblock tote. I am pretty sure I saw Heidi Klum wearing this, do I need to say anything more? This is actually a lot bigger then it looks, it would hold a ton but keep it organized as well!

This is also by Marc Jacobs, and I am still working on how I would wear it! You could do a super simple outfit, maybe a white shirt and jean shorts with tan gladiator sandals, and then this could work!

This isn't highlighter style neon, but it is somewhat wearable! This is the Mulberry Alexa bag. I love the silver buckles on it, and the patent leather gives a little more definition to your ensemble.

This is the Rebecca Minkoff Allie bag in Coral/Hot Pink. This is a Saks exclusive, and I can see why! The chain on the strap combined with the clasp is never found in just any old store! This bag is so precise, I love the perfection of it.

Thanks for reading, and tell me in the comments if you have been wearing the neon trend! Also make sure to follow, if we get enough followers there will be a contest in the near future!

Fashion in Dance!

As a dancer, I can tell you that those plain black leotards can seem boring sometimes, but that is what most serious dance schools require. But, that doesn't mean that for a summer class you can't have some fun with your leotard! And if you don't dance, these leotards are still fun to look at! I think what makes these leotards so interesting, is what the designers have done with the design of the leotard. They didn't just do a normal shaped leotard and make it neon green to grab attention, they changed the design which creates a very cool look.

This one is super cool. Now thats not because its neon pink, its because of the design of the strap. You just don't expect it! Have you ever heard the saying business in the front, and party in the back? I think that describes these leotards.

This one is my favorite one, I want it so badley! Its such a beautiful back with the ovals cut out of it, it's just gorgeus!

I'm loving this leotard too! It looks like a plain leotard in the front, but then the back is crazy! The triangles are just so unique because on leotards mostly circles are cut out of the back.

I hope you liked this post! Please comment and tell me what you think of these leotards!

Mod Cloth

Hey everyone!

I have been loving the look of vintage clothes, and I know one of our readers loves it as well! She recommended the website Mod Cloth to me, and I have been on it every day since! It seems like they add new things every day, and I have spent more time shopping on there then working on this post. Oops. Anyways, other then the fact that their site is extremely addictive, they have some really unique pieces.

This is the Richly Royal dress. I love this because the basic silhouette gives the perfect opportunity to accessorize! Mod Cloth lists what they would pair with the piece, and for this they said to go gold. I could not agree more! The warm undertones in gold would work really well to bring out this rich shade of purple.

This is the Palette of Petals Dress. I think I read that it was inspired by paints on a palette, and I can see why! The bright cherry red flowers pop against the cerulean blue. This dress has a tie closure in the back and banded waist.

The Plum One Plum All dress is so perfect! This was exactly what I was looking for, and it might have something to do with the belt. A while ago, I did a post on thick belts. I love the look of them, and when they come with a dress like this, how can you pass it up? The thing I love about Mod Cloth is their stunning vintage selection full of bright colors!

A Single Sprig dress would be the perfect Dress for more of a casual beachy look. I know the Forever Fuchsia team has been obsessing over this look, especially the hair. For the perfect style to go with this look, check out Glitter Girl's perfect waves post! Anyways, I would love to see this with some golden gladiator sandals and perfectly sea salt sprayed hair to go along with this!

The Violet It Be dress is unique because of its open back. I love this because it is not too dressy but it can easily be dressed up! Everyone needs some versatile pieces in their wardrobe, and this could easily be one of them. I love the color palette of this one, expect a deep violet smokey eye coming up soon!

This is the first part of this post, Mod Cloth has so many cute things on it I need another post or two just to get started! Thanks for reading, be sure to follow and leave a comment!

Secret to Waves

Hello readers! So lately, I have been on the hunt to find the secret to waves. I have tried twisted wet hair and sleeping like that, and just curling my hair on a super low heat, but nothing seems to work! I decided that I will probably have to invest a little money in this search and buy a spray or hair waver. So these are my options. If you have tried any of these please comment and tell me how it was because right now I don't know which to choose.

First is this beach wave spray from the company Fekkai. It is pricey though (25.00) so before I get it I want to make sure it's worth the price.

Second is a Ocean Spray from Alterna. Its a bit cheaper (20.00) but I haven't tried any of Alterna's products before so I have no experience with their products.

Then I moved on to waving tools. The only issue is that I don't want my hair to look like it's been crimped. So here are the possibilities:

First is Hot Tool's gold and purple Three Barrel Waver. I have found that Hot Tools makes some of the beat quality beauty tools. Ex; hair curler, straightener, etc. But they certainly are hot. Expecially when you are checking to see if the curling iron is hot and you touch it and you realize that your heat protective glove has a hole in it. That really hurt. But back on topic. If I do get a hair waver, I think I will go with this one because I know it will be great quality! This hair waver is $20.00. Not bad really!

The next one is Bedhead's Deep Waver. This was originally $35.00, but right now at Ulta it is on sale for $27.00. I haven't had any experence with Bed Head before, but if you have please comment and tell me about it!

Please comment and tell me what you know about these products! I appreciate this!

Tropical Eyes

Hey everyone!

Thank goodness finals are over! It has been one interesting week, and now I can get back to my normal posting schedule! Anyways, I thought it would be fun to do a tutorial on a tropical look. In the summertime, you can get away with colorful looks. I have been loving this look, so here it is!

Instead of starting off with Urban Decay primer potion like I usually do, I am going to use a paint pot. This will give you a colored base, and it will make your shadows stay all day long!

Next I took Lucky Green with a 239 brush and applied it to the outer half of my lid. This green has a little yellow shimmer in it, so it works really well with the paint pot! Also, make sure to get all the way into the upper lash line, the yellow under it will show unless Lucky Green is smudged into the lash line! Then I put this on the inner half of my waterline for more color.

Freshwater is the clearest summer blue that I could think of, so I just had to use it! I used the 213 brush to apply this to the outer "V" also known as the outer third of the lash line following up to the crease. I prefer the 213 instead of a pencil brush because the 213 blends it better. I don't like the look of a harsh line in the crease! After that, I applied this to my un-lined outer half of my waterline. I blended these colors in the center for added definition. I also used this on my upper lashline.

I used the 224 and Blanc Type to highlight my browbone. I do this every time to lift up my eyebrow and make my eyes appear bigger!

I then used Mac False Lash mascara. You know I love this stuff, it works wonders! This formula is perfect, it is not too dry or way too wet. I love it because it holds without flaking all day!

Because this is a summer look, I need to pull off a tan! I used Nars Laguna bronzer with a 168 brush to contour my cheekbones and slightly warm up my face. I like to build the product from the outside of the face when it comes to bronzer, because you contour instead of creating a fake look. If you start the bronzer in the middle of your face when you don't have your perfect tan, it won't look good. If you start from the outside, it is much more natural!

And this is the finished look! I love the waterline in this look, and I think the yellow really brought out my eyes! This will work on any eye color, but it will really make blue eyes pop! Sorry my eye is kind of red, I have been messing with different looks and annoying them all day!

Thanks for reading, and leave a comment telling me if you tried out this look! I really had fun with this one, I cannot wait to do more summer makeup looks! Feel free to request any posts, I promise there are many more posts coming up!
